EKAT BOGH GRAM SCHOOL
The Kailadevi Temple provides support to EKAT Bodh Gram, a school for children with hearing and speech disabilities which is now considered the best in Rajasthan
EKAT Bodh Gram is one of only three schools in the state of Rajasthan with specialized facilities for the education and care of children with hearing and speech impairments and the only one within a radius of 200 km. Despite its rural location, the school receives students from neighbouring cities such as Bharatpur, Alwar, as it is the only school in the state which provides education up to the 12th grade. Currently, the school has 150 students, all of whom reside within the premises. The Temple has aided the development of improved infrastructure for the school starting with equipment to test hearing, state-of the art hearing aids, and going on to a girl’s hostel and classroom complex which has allowed the school to become completely residential and exponentially increased the number of students from 70 to 240 children as of now. It is now the only such school in Rajasthan which provides education up to the 12th standard and has students from every corner of Rajasthan.
The temple has also built an activity and carpentry workshop which allows students to enjoy extra-curricular activities, as well as receive vocational training. The students now make their own furniture and uniforms.
